Based in the beautiful, Oxfordshire market town of Woodstock, BMC Financial Planning was founded by Bryan McNamara with a clear mission: to provide practical, personalised independent financial advice that transforms the lives of families and brings peace of mind for generations.
We are a boutique advisory business with a loyal client base and a proven record of helping individuals and families achieve their financial goals. Our clients trust us to guide them through life’s key moments with clarity, compassion, and expertise.

Bryan has over 30 years of experience in financial planning, with the last 25 years as a totally ‘Independent Financial Adviser’, building long term, trust based relationships, during which he has supported clients both as an adviser and as a friend, he is proud to have guided them through life’s events and to have watched their families grow.
A proud father and grandfather, Bryan very much enjoys his time with his family. He has a passion for sport and exercise, culminating in the occasional triathlon, as well as spending quality time with his partner walking, socialising, and travelling.

Gavin Hilton

Gavin is a Financial Planner with over two decades of experience in financial services, having started his career after graduating from the University of Hertfordshire Business School in 2002. Known for his down-to-earth style and approachable nature, he’s passionate about making financial planning feel straightforward, personal, and genuinely useful. Gavin works tirelessly to help his clients turn their goals into clear, achievable plans.
As a proud father, his biggest motivation is his children and the world they’re growing up in — a perspective that shapes his commitment to helping families build secure futures. Outside of work, you’ll find him at the gym, enjoying a good book, out walking, or cooking at home.

Harriet Gwilt
Operations Manager
Harriet oversees the business operations of BMC Financial Planning, she looks after the office, administration and manages the platforms and processes behind the scenes. With a background in operational management and guest services, Harriet ensures our clients receive a seamless, supportive experience at every stage.
Harriet moved to Oxfordshire with her husband over 10 years ago and now has 2 daughters, she loves swimming, spending time in nature with her family and visiting galleries and museums.
